Tasting notes: This particular wine is the heart and soul of Odonata! The dark ruby/purple color sets the tempo for this wine. On the nose you’ll be met with inky dark fruits, herbs and spices. The palate is perfectly driven by balance, with opulent fruit, tannin and graphite. This Petite is special now, but with time has the potential to become something extraordinary.
Vineyard: Machado Creek Vineyard is a beautiful landscape tucked into the eastern side of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Just outside Gilroy tucked into the hillside, which allows for long even ripening of my Rhone Varietals. The soil is red clay loam and has been fed over time by the creek that runs through the middle of the vineyard. This vineyard is the heart of Odonata’s wines representing 30% of production.
