Terah Wine Co. Besson Vineyard Old Vine Grenache 2022

“Planted in 1910, these Grenache vines are among the oldest vines in California. I am very fortunate to work with George Besson, second generation grower who manages the vineyard,” writes Terah. A rare, special wine is only made when vintage conditions allow for these ancient vines to bear enough fruit. Fermented 100% whole cluster to emphasize Grenache’s more floral, delicate side, followed by maturation (17 months) in neutral French oak. We love this wine so much we begged Terah to pour it for a second time at our back bar year. Vibrant with notes of strawberries, conifer forests, red vines, Provençal herbs and old leather. Flavorful enough to stand up to rich lamb stews or spicy dishes (shwarma, chicken tandoori, lamb momos), but delicate enough for (grilled) salmon.
