Popelouchum Blanc 21
Popelouchum Blanc 21
54% Grenache Blanc, 46% Grenache Gris. Winemaker's Notes: I procrastinated too long in my petition to the TTB for recognition of Grenache Gris as a variety, and the approval just came yesterday, alas, a little too late to change the label art. Take a look at the language of the back label and note the unprecedented degree of snarkiness; I could not resist. We did things a little bit differently with the '22 Popelouchum Blanc, picking the grapes a little bit riper and crushing the grapes before pressing, electing to allow approximately 2 hours of skin-contact. As with the '21 vintage, the wine was barrel fermented in neutral cooperage. Still shows similar bracing acidity, but perhaps a bit rounder and softer on the palate. Approximately 200 cases were produced.
