Piero Mancini Vermentino di Gallura 2024
Piero Mancini Vermentino di Gallura 2024
Sourced from their estate vineyards in Sardegna -- three parcels from the heart of the Gallura zone: Balaiana, Lu Scolombrino and Montelittu. The Mancini vineyards range from 50 to 300 meters in elevation with varying exposures, but mostly south-facing. The terrain in Gallura is dominated by large outcroppings of granite which rise sporadically from the ground throughout the area. The soil in the vineyards is made up of that same granite – weathered and broken down into fine sand. Hand-harvested. They do not use herbicides or pesticides but reserve the right to use fungicides if it means saving the crop.
Fermented in stainless steel with selected yeast. Aged in stainless steel until January after harvest.
Pale yellow color; aroma of peach, tangerine and herbs; medium-weight in the mouth, with bright acidity; very clean, good length, finishes with a touch of tangerine. Drink either as an aperitif or with seafood (prawns with pasta)
