Dry-farmed and harvested from a single estate vineyard, Luddite Chenin Blanc is one of the finest examples of the variety in South Africa. Grapes are fermented with native yeast in open-top micro-lots with 25 days of skin contact, emphasizing natural acidity, freshness, and aromatic complexity. Medium amber in color, bone-dry, silky textured, and supremely expressive. Only 1,500 bottles produced.

Tasting Note

This Chenin Blanc reveals savory fynbos, saline minerality, apricot, tangerine, and passionfruit. Over time, aromas of white peaches and pears emerge. On the palate, it is textured and layered, with impressive weight and mouthfeel despite low alcohol, finishing with white fruit, subtle spice, and a touch of salinity. Ages beautifully, akin to a top Savennières.

Food Pairing

Pairs exceptionally well with fresh seafood, oysters, shellfish, roasted chicken, creamy goat cheese, and dishes with citrus or light herbal sauces.
