Guerila Pinela 22

Guerila is a biodynamic producer based in Slovenias mineral rich Vipava Valley. Pinela is a variety native to Slovenia. This fruit was grown in Slovenia's extremely windy Vipava Valley, straddling Mediterranean and Alpine climates, not far from the Italian border. The area is made up of karst and vineyards are planted to steep well-drained, mineral rich hills. The grapes are hand harvested followed by a short two day maceration on the skins for added structure, followed by spontaneous fermentation with natural yeast present on the grapes in both concrete vats and inox, with additional aging in stainless steel and concrete tanks. Bottling without filtration according to biodynamic calendar with minimal sulfur addition. Tasting Notes: Light, sunny yellow and lively color. Distinguished by its complex nose of aromas of grapefruit, peach, dried flowers, and wet limestone the pallet is elegant with flavors of ripe white fruits, melon and minerality. Refreshing but refined body with distinct minerality to complete the balance of freshness and structure.
