Friday Night Tasting: Small Sonoma Winemaker Spotlight with Alli Badar & Casey Barton

We are very excited to host and celebrate this year’s debut of Intertidal Wine Co. by Alli Badar and Helia Wine Co. by Casey Barton on Friday, October 9th from 5-7:30pm! Though you may not know these wines, Alli and Casey both showcase their passion, knowledge, skills, and dedication as integral members of the Bedrock Wine Co. family. 

Alli caught the wine bug after a few years in other fields (professional dancing, yoga, tech) and pursued a Masters in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis where she researched the impact of wildfire smoke on grapes. After graduating, she joined Bedrock as a harvest intern in 2023, and joined the team full-time as Enologist in the fall of 2024. She is fascinated with old vines, regenerative viticulture, and thoughtful, precise winemaking. At it’s core, Intertidal Wine Co. is “about connection: sharing something universal, sensory, and human. These wines are meant to be expressions of that wonder—caring for the land, respecting time, and being part of something larger than ourselves.”

Casey is an explorer of landscapes. She studied Geolocial Sciences at the University of Texas and is now a full-time farmer. In 2016 she worked harvest for Pellegrini and was the 2020 viticulture intern for Bedrock. After a few years in the sales/business wine world at Phil Coturri’s Enterprise Vineyard Management, during which she pursued the WSET Diploma, Casey returend to Bedrock as full-time viticulturalist, overseeing operations acroos the numerous vineyards (and counties) the winery farms and sources fruit. Helia Wine Co. is powered by the Sun, which “feeds the plants, and the plants nourish us… weaving together the living quilt of life here on earth. These vineyard sites hold that same sense of interconnectedness and reflect it back through the wines. They are living things, still carrying the energy of the sun within them. Always changing, evolving, growing until that energy is passed along to us.
