Friday Night Tasting: Ruby Blanca's Sabrina Tamayo Pours Some Damn Good American Wine | July 3rd, 2026 | 5-7:30PM
Join us Friday, July 3rd for a tasting of Ruby Blanca wines with Oakland-based winemaker and founder, Sabrina Tamayo.
We wanted to kick off the July 4th weekend with Ruby Blanca, not only because Sabrina makes the kind of refreshing, lively wines that you want to sip all holiday weekend long, but also because her family's story captures so many of the things that still make our nation great (especially at this time when so many of us are not feeling great about it).
Ruby Blanca is named in honor of Sabrina's Colombian abuelas, Rubelia and Blanca.
It's a celebration of her - and our - immigrant forbearers who took that huge risk and worked their asses off so their children and grandchildren could have better opportunities than they did.
It's a celebration of the perspective and wisdom Sabrina's gained growing up between Miami and her grandmother's farm Colombia.
It's a celebration of the opportunities that continue to draw people from around the world to our shores despite the many current barriers. As a young, queer, Latinx woman, Sabrina had the opportunity to pursue a dual career as an artist and sommelier-turned-winemaker, managing beverages programs for top spots in NYC and SF (Delfina and Che Fico) and working harvests at Bedrock, Ryme and Matthiason before launching her own label.
Anyhow, drink some fabulous, BBQ-approved local wines and hear it from Sabrina, in her own words, on the 3rd.
