Elena Fucci Titolo Aglianico del Vulture 20

Elena Fucci Titolo Aglianico del Vulture 20

Multi-award winning 100% Aglianico from the volcanic slopes of Mt Vulture in Italy's Basilicata region. The family has owned vineyards in the region for generations and sold to prestigious wineries. However, when the family was on the cusp of selling their wine, Elena, then a teenager, begged her parents not to sell the land and dedicated herself to studying winemaking so she could one day takeover and manage the family estate. Vinification Information: The Aglianico is de-stemmed and crushed in small batches and then fermented in stainless steel with a maximum temperature controlled to 22-24 degrees Celsius. Malolactic fermentation takes place within 100% new French oak barriques and matured for 12 months. The wine is fined in the bottle for an additional 6 months before being released to the market. Wine Characteristics: Dark and intense ruby red with an ample and complex nose yielding ethereal spices, cherry, blackberry preserves, rosemary, tobacco and cinnamon with light hints of vanilla. Dry on the palate and full bodied with firm tannins and alongfinish. Although a young wine when released, it is destined for a great future! The Titolo Tower is a house on the outskirts of Barile, in the North of Basilicata, immersed between vineyard and olive groves that have been tended to for 4 generations. The story of the Fucci Family, over the last few years, is one of a prestigious wine: Titolo, named after the local volcanic territory in the region.
