Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Côte du Py 2023

A captivating Côte de Py from 65 year old vines spread across 4 plots. Dusty, red-fruited with a tinge or iron ore and cinammon on the nose. Fresh, lithe and lively on the palate with pure fruit -red fruit & blood orange, layered over a dense and weighty core. There are some serious tannins here, telling you that this wine is meant for the long haul, but they are plush, fine and deftly-integrated.

Among Beaujolais fans like us, Mee Goddard is a name to know. Born is South Korea, raised in Lyon and educated in Oregon & Montpelier, Mee is making some of the most beautiful and exciting wines in the region today. 

Mee launched her Morgon-based domaine in 2013 with the aim of making evocative and expressive wines meant for aging from some of the best climats in Beaujolais including Cote de Py, Corcelette and Grand Cras (which she took over from André Meyran who had no heirs).
