80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre Nested in the village of Valreas (in the the heart of the Enclave des Papes), Domaine du Seminaire has remained in the Pouizin family for four generations. Herve Pouizin has inherited the respect of traditions and natural balances and continues this philosophy. Run under an organic program, the vines are spread through the lavender fields and truffle oaks. Winery uses vats from 1938. Clay-limestone soils. Grenache was planted in the early 1980s-2003, Syrah planted from the 1980s-2010, Carignan planted in the 1960s. In the foothills of the Alps, this terroir represents the northern reaches of where Grenache can successfully ripen, walking the tightrope between full ripeness and bright acids. A precise and well-crafted wine with notes of red and black berries, black pepper, garrigue spice, licorice, hot stones, all atop very food friendly & silky tannins. Medium to full bodied.
