Ciacci Piccolomini Brunello di Montalcino 2019

Ciacci Piccolomini Brunello di Montalcino 2019

The wine is fueled by the golden light that hits this part of Tuscany in those last hours of the day. Here is a wine that shows spirit of place" - James Suckling | November, 2020This wine offers an intense bouquet of red-berry, wild-rose, dark spice, minerality, mint, tea leaves and balsam. On the palate, flavors integrate seamlessly. While full-bodied, ripe and concentrated, this wine also has finesse with fine, soft tannins and a long, succulent finish. The Ciacci Piccolomini dAragona estate is located on the south eastern slope of Montalcino near the medieval village of Castelnuovo dellAbate. The view is stunning--a panorama of vineyards, olive groves, small farms, woodlands and Mount Amiata. The castle and estate date back to the 17th century, when it served as a residence for the Bishop of Montalcino. The ecclestial property passed into the hands of Tuscan nobles and transformed into the Ciacci Piccolomini dAragona Palace. In 1985, the countess Elda Ciacci bequeathed the entire property to Giuseppe Bianchini, a farmer on the estate whose visionary approach to farming increased the vigor and quality of wines, gaining them worldwide recognition. Giuseppe, unfortunately passed away in February 2004, and today the estate is is managed by his son and daughter, Paolo and Lucia.
