Red wine. Cornas, Northern Rhône, France. 100% Syrah. This is an insanely delicious young wine, wow! Gunpowder and smoke mixing with spiced blackberries, tapenade and freshly cracked black pepper. This is quite a nose, really! The palate is less forgiving, young, tight, mineral, very wound up. Juicy, fresh acid, and saline. It is not a pleasure bomb yet, but it is stunning in its purity and reserve even if a bit austere at the moment. Very exciting and definitely reminds me of my first taste of Allemand.
