Crio Frozen Moon Honkaku Reserve is one-of-a-kind Japanese Shochu made from single pot-distilled from rice and frozen estate-grown sweet potatoes from a single harvest (2020). The freezing works to concentrate and sweeten the sweet potato aromas and flavors, while producing a uniquely smooth texture. This shochu has a muscat like nose with floral and apricot aromas.
Tarumizu is a region of Kagoshima Prefecture on the east side of Sakurajima volcano known for its onsen baths. The area is also fertile ground for sweet potato shochu where Yachiyoden grows their own under carefully-controlled conditions.
This is made completely with sweet potatoes harvested from Yachiyoden’s own fields.
