73% Sangiovese, 27% Montepulciano. 2018 is another excellent vintage for this blend of Central Italian grapes. Thanks to better farming practices (more extensive crop thinning) and scrutiny of the vineyard blocks used, Segromigno is more complex in previous vintages. This "Lot 2" features Sangiovese in the lead, similar to our 2017 Segromigno. The cool August resulted in longer hang time for the grapes resulting in a deep colored and intensely fruity wine (cherry and blueberry) with great natural acidity and tannin structure. While this wine can be injoyed now, it will age gracefully fo several years (3 to 5) years to come much like vineyard designate Chianti. 380 cases produced.
