Zah Wines is a project created by winemaker Jason Lee. The name “Zah” comes from the Chinese character 炸 meaning “to burst” or “to explode”. The radicals that form the character are 火 meaning fire, and 乍 meaning suddenly or abruptly. Staying true to character, Zah Wines aims to craft a range of wines that burst with flavor and excite the palate at first sip.
Jason’s passion and enthusiasm for wine led him to get his degree in Wine and Viticulture in the heart of California’s Central Coast wine region. His adventures in wine have led him to work at wineries in the Northern Rhone of France, King Valley of Australia, Hawke’s Bay New Zealand, and most recently, the cool Sonoma Coast. Jason’s mission is to source organically grown grapes and make wines with minimal manipulation to let the varietal speak for itself.
