The Kloof Street Chenin Blanc is sourced from three particularly fine vineyards in Swartland: one with 33 year old vines planted in the stony Shale and Schist soils of Riebeek Kasteel Mountain, and two vineyards of 40+ year old dry-farmed bush vines in the decomposed granite of Paardeberg Mountain. These vineyards render modest yields and the juice is fermented on their native yeast in a combination of stainless steel (85%) and neutral oak (15%). From the winery: "Pale straw in colour, this wine has a nose of sun ripened pears and wet granite. The palate is full and rich, with a mineral, spicy finish."
