Friday Night Tasting: Greek Wines | July 17th, 2026 5-7:30PM
Greece manages to be one of the world's most ancient wine growing region's while also being one of its most current and exciting.
The country is rich in all of the things that delight us wine geeks: loads of distinctive, esoteric & ancient grape varieties, high elevation vineyards, coastal terroir, fresh salty whites like Assyrtiko and sleek and spicy volcanic reds.
Much of the country has resisted, or been passed over by, industrialized farming (due to the difficult topography, as well as government) so for many producers, the hallmarks of craftsmanship we associate with fine wines: hand picked grapes, old deep-rooted vines that have never been sprayed, are still the default.
We'll be pouring 4 wines from around the country:
1) Mylonas Savatiano Pet Nat
2) Lyrarakis Voila Assyrtiko 24
3) Artemis Karamolegos Terra Nera Dry Red 24
4) Hatzis Winery "Seven Roots" Xinomavro 21
