A blend of 44% Viognier, 36% Pinot Gris and 20% Muscat. Extensive contact with skins during fermentation gives this wine its amber color. Punchy, fat and ripe with loads of perfume and floral aromas; exotic tropical peach and mango. Fat, fleshy and ripe.
Brianne was inspired by Sicilian wines, specifically the highly aromatized, skin contact whites made of grapes like Zibbibo when she decided to make this. She found a vineyard growing Viognier and Pinot Gris and across the street another growing Muscat and believed that the combination of those three grapes might result in what she was after. The name “Tears of Vulcan” speaks to the fact that the one thing Sicily and Oregon have in common are their volcanic soils--thus the God of Volcanoes graces the label!
