California's homage to Haut-Brian Blanc based on Sémillon from Monte Rosso vineyard (planted in the 1880's, they are among the oldest Sémillon vines in the world). The Sémillon is blended with Sauvignon Blanc and then barrel fermented in a mix of new and used French oak barrels. The Semillon blends beautifully with the high-tone perfume and trace of tropical from the Sauvignon Blanc—making for a complex and age-worthy wine. Though this wine can certainly be enjoyed in its youth, we find that the 2009 and 2010 are drinking pretty wonderfully right now. This was Bedrock's first white wine made back in 2008. Morgan and Chris have exceedingly high standards for this wine; it isn't made every year, and production is extremely limited so we jump at the rare opportunity to bring in a case any time it's offered to us.
