This Pét-Nat is floral and fruity, but refreshingly bone-dry. The opening aromatics are like sticking your nose in a fermentation vat, with yeasty brioche notes and lively youthful freshness. To follow are notes of night blooming jasmine, citrus blossom, melon rind, warm Kaffir lime scones with preserved lemon…and a refreshing hint of sea air….and did I mention soft tiny delicate bubbles! This wine stays true to the nature of an authentic Pétillant Naturel style wine but has an added twist so it could be put into a can: I encouraged native yeast fermentation, with the end of fermentation happening in a sealed tank to capture the bubbles and then the wine was canned while it was still fermenting and it finishes in the CAN, with no sugar or other juice added. This is a version of the wine that goes in the bottle of Onward Malvasia Bianca Pet Nat, however, now this wine is also conveniently located in a 375mL can. Being a busy outdoorsy type myself the idea of delicious wine that was in a light and portable package became something of great interest to me. I decided to offer these wines to you in this format, now you can bring her with you wherever life’s adventures take you. Some of my favorite spots so far have been the beach, hiking, sailing, but the options truly are endless!! The Can’s are light, they chill down faster, they don’t break, and heck, let’s face it, they are just fun! So crack a can, I promise you…it will just happen, you will crack a smile too, enjoy!
