The 2018 Citrine is a blend of four different vineyards with an average vine age of almost 40 years. The base of the blend (50%) is a block of 42 year old, own-rooted vines at Rorick Heritage Vineyard in the Sierra Foothills. The blend also includes fruit from Haynes, Heron Lake & Brosseau vineyards.
VINIFICATIONThe Chardonnay grapes were gently whole cluster pressed and lightly settled. The juice was barrel fermented with native yeast and underwent full native malolactic fermentation.
AGINGAged on the lees for 12 months in barrel, blended and bottled un-fined and unfiltered.

NOTESCitrine is a gemstone of “yellow quartz”. Citrine Chardonnay is made with an eye towards a balance of golden California sun and a gentle kiss of minerality.
