‘Bizzarro popolo gli italiani’ claims Winston Churchill, or in other words, Italians are bizarre! They certainly can be, my good man Win, and so are their wines. Let us try to keep in mind that different does not always mean less than delicious. Different just means different. We are here to show how many of these relatively unknown varietals and blends can truly shine when given their chance at centerstage. Grapes like the crisp, citrusy Inzolia or deep, perfumed Lacrima di Morro d'Alba can be beautiful pairings to some of the most varied of plates. Also the elegant chocolate and persimmon-like Refosco can enhance even the dullest of dinners when given the opportunity. In fact, this weekend’s lineup may very well be some of the most attractive, Italian goofballs around…we promise.
